Monster mesos are the big one. Mob and quest mesos are x10, but NPC prices are normal. So potions, stars
and arrows cost very little next to what you earn. Running out of potions stops being a worry after 1st job.
Selling junk to NPCs is a small share of your income here (on a 1x server it's a third or more).
Prices in the FM sit higher than you remember from GMS. Items compare to each other much as they did in v83
(a White Scroll is still worth far more than a 60%).
Good to know by job
Hermit / Night Lord: Meso Up raises the drop before the x10, so it keeps its value.
Chief Bandit: Pickpocket mesos don't get the x10, so it is weaker here than in v83.
Night Lord: a full recharge of 800 Ilbis costs about 640 mesos. Buy Ilbis once; they're not an ongoing cost.
Shops and trades
Tax on trades, personal stores and hired merchants is taken from the seller: none under 100,000; 0.8% from
100k; 1.8% from 1m; 3% from 5m; 4% from 10m; 5% from 25m; 6% from 100m. Since 1.5.0, Free Market shop sales (personal
stores and hired merchants) pay at least 3%.
Fredrick at the FM entrance keeps your hired merchant's unsold items and mesos. After 100 days they are gone.
Owl of Minerva search works.
The regulars' shops in the FM sell at posted prices. Since 1.5.0 you can also trade and haggle with them in
person, and check prices with @price: see Gachapon, shops and trading.
Things that cost a lot
The 4th-job skill package: 10,000,000 mesos.
MapleRoot's star force can cost up to 50,000,000 mesos a try at the top end.
