Base of Roots — the main hub
The TRADE button by the chat bar (the "FM button") takes you to Base of Roots, MapleRoot's Arcane-style hub. Nearly every custom NPC is there, so it is the place to go back to between trips.

| Key Binder | Puts skills from your past lives on your keys, and sets skill macros. |
| 4th job skills | Teaches all the 4th-job skills that normally need quests or skill books, for 10,000,000 mesos (100,000,000 for a Beginner). |
| Cotton Warper | Warps to boss maps; with 3 rebirths also to Grandis towns and Arcane River & Future towns. |
| Nimble (Master Forger) | Forges equipment and refines raw minerals from your materials. |
| Rooty | Rooty's shop, the donor shop, Retro JQ rewards and server information. |
| Cotton Stylist | Stylist and salon: hair, face, skin. |
| Gerrard | Storage. |
| Lab Tech | Shows your expedition (boss) attempts. |
The classic Free Market
The old v83 Free Market (the entrance and its 22 rooms) is kept as it was. Get there by:
- the portal in Base of Roots, or
- the Free Market portal in any town (27 towns have one).
Leaving the FM takes you back to where you came in (Base of Roots if it can't tell). The TRADE button still goes to Base of Roots, so your hub bookmark is never lost.
At the entrance: Fredrick (collects what your hired merchant didn't sell, and its mesos), Scrooge (storage) and the Maple TV.
The rooms have player shops and the merchants among the regulars. Their price is the price on the shop; buying works the same as from anyone else.
