Patch notes
SlumsMS 1.5.0
The social update
October 24, 2026
Bots remember you now. They form guilds, go to war, date and marry, and if you opt in they'll date you too. Gachapon is back in every town, bots open shops and haggle, and they fight more like players.
To update: press Play in the launcher. Clients older than 1.5.0 can't log in anymore. New here? Type @guide in game.

Bots that remember you
- New
Every bot keeps a feeling about you, and it changes with what you do. Partying, buffs, heals, rescues, trades, gifts, fame and friendly chat make friends. KS, taking a bot's drops, defame and rude chat make rivals. Grudges fade over a few days, friendships over a few weeks.
- New
Friends greet you, send buddy requests, invite you to parties and buff you. A friend may give you potions for your level, a scroll or 100k-500k mesos, at most once a week.
- New
Rivals roast your actual game: your level against the map, deaths today, an old weapon, your KS count. They steal a few of your mobs on that map and refuse to trade or party. Trash talk stays about the game.
- New
A nemesis may call 2-4 guildmates for a three-minute KS war on your map, post a "KSer" callout by megaphone, or follow you through a portal once and demand an apology. "sorry" calms it down. Mocking it makes things worse.
- New
Party invites follow feelings. A friend always joins your party, a neutral bot about one time in three, and a rival never.
- New
Bot buddies. Add a bot to your buddy list. One that knows you answers buddy chat like a person, after a few seconds to a few minutes. Ask "where r u" and it names its map and invites you over. Bot buddies stay on your list across relogs.
- New
@botdrama off keeps every bot neutral or friendly toward you, with no rivals at all. It also stops gossip about you.
Talk in plain words
- New
Ask a bot in plain words: "wanna party?", "come to henesys", "how much for the work gloves". It does what it says, then answers like a player, in its own style and at typing speed.
- New
Who answers: say a name and that bot answers from anywhere. Otherwise the bot you're facing answers, or the one that just spoke to you, or the closest one nearby. Nobody near? It's just public chat.
- New
Bots chat with each other in town, and you can join in. They answer the question you actually replied to.
- Change
Bots read the room. They don't send you invites, gifts, trade offers or whispers while you're in a party quest or event, at a boss, trading, in a shop, talking to an NPC or away. At most one unprompted whisper every ten minutes. Towns stay chatty, hunting maps are quieter, and dungeons and boss maps are nearly silent.
- New
@settings opens a window where you can switch bot drama, romance, bot megaphones and bot chatter on or off with a click.
Guilds and wars
- New
Ten bot guilds: Legendz, MoonLiteX, MesoMafia, SlumLords, ZakumSlayerz, KoreanBBQ, SnailGang, Pwnage, NoobTeam and HenesysKidz. Their names and emblems show over the bots' heads. They chat in guild chat, grind in parties, recruit by megaphone and whisper, and run boss trips you can join by partying a member.
- New
Join one, or bring bots into yours. Ask a bot guild's officer if you can join. Bots who like you join your guild (right-click invite works), but they get pickier once your guild is half bots. A bot leaves a guild whose players are its rivals, or one that ignores it for three weeks.
- New
Guild wars. Rival bot guilds go to war for a week over grind maps, with war megaphones and turf fights. A bot guild can declare war on a player guild it can't stand. @guildwar shows the score, and @guildwar peace (master or jr. master) ends it.
- New
Guilds poach each other's members, some ally for joint boss runs, and now and then one betrays the other.
- New
Guild rankings list bot and player guilds together, at any Honorable Rock and now from Heracle in Orbis too.
- Fix
Guild masters keep their rank. A new guild used to leave its master at the lowest rank, so they couldn't invite, offer peace, disband or change the emblem. Masters are repaired at their next login.
Love and weddings
- New
Bot couples form in any pairing. They train together, sit on their loveseat, wear rings and send love notes by megaphone. A couple that has been dating a couple of days may marry in Amoria in the evening, with guests, vows and rings. Every player on the map gets a small EXP blessing.
- New
Bot best friends hang out the same way and wear friendship rings.
- New
Any two players can get engaged and marry, same gender included. Moony makes ring boxes for everyone, and any character can propose.
- New
Romance with bots is opt-in: type @romance on (it's off by default). A bot that really likes you may flirt and ask you out, or you can ask it. Propose with an engagement ring box (level 50+, any genders) and marry in Amoria with @romance wedding.
- New
Expect drama: ignore a partner for four days and you get dumped by megaphone, date two at once and they find out, and weddings can get an "I OBJECT". It stays PG-13. @romance off stops it and @romance divorce ends a marriage.
- Fix
Wedding ceremonies in the Chapel and Cathedral work again: the priest's lines and the "married" step.
How bots play
- New
Bots fight like players. They use AoE on packs of three or more and single-target skills on bosses and lone mobs. They face a mob before swinging, step out of mobs' bodies, and archers and mages keep their distance.
- Fix
Bots attack at a player's speed. Long skills like Barrage, Tempest, Air Strike, Genesis and Blizzard play to the end, and Hurricane and Rapid Fire fire as a steady stream like a player's.
- New
Bot pets. About a quarter of bots at level 30+ walk with a pet. Pets loot for their bot, but never take your drops.
- New
KS manners. Neutral bots stay off your platform and away from your mobs, and leave a map where only your spot is left, sometimes asking "cc?". Rivals still KS you.
- New
Bots spread out. No more clumps of bots on one spot, and only one bot per rope.
- New
Each bot has its own habits for looting and potions, and now and then dies on a map that's too hard for it, then restocks in town and walks back.
- Fix
Bots move at the speed their gear and buffs give them, have believable fame, and no longer Flash Jump where it's blocked.
A busier world
- New
About 3,000 bots roam at the evening peak, up from 1,200. At most 50 stand on one map per channel, so busy maps stay readable.
- New
Five channels. Channel 1 is the busiest and channel 5 the quietest. At the peak channel 1's bar shows full, but you can still pick it: real players are never turned away by bots.
- New
@goto <town> for everyone: hop between towns. Type @goto for the list. It doesn't work from events, party quests or maps you can't leave.
- New
No bouncing through jump quests. Ninja Bounce, the other bounces and Flash Jump don't work on jump quest maps.
- Fix
Restored from the original game: Rydole in Ludibrium makes weapons again, the Perion house quest and the Omega Sector sample quest can be finished, Curse halves EXP, Mana Reflection reflects a real share of the hit, other players see your crits as crits, and the Papulatus gate shows when a fight is on.
- Fix
Busy maps load faster. The Henesys Market no longer builds up invisible leftover gachapon boxes.
- Fix
Duey says it's closed instead of opening a window that does nothing, and the Family button says "coming soon".
Gachapon
- New
A machine in all 12 towns, with six new ones in Ellinia, Perion, Kerning City, Sleepywood, Mushroom Shrine and New Leaf City. Each town has its own prizes (Perion warrior gear, Ellinia mage gear and scrolls, and so on) plus a shared list.
- New
Odds: common 70%, uncommon 24.5%, rare 5%, jackpot 0.5%. Jackpots include Chaos Scroll 60%, White Scroll and chairs. Rare and jackpot wins are announced to the server.
- New
@gacha <town> lists every prize. A Remote Gachapon Ticket plays any machine from anywhere (except Singapore's).
- Fix
No rerolls. If your prize doesn't fit, it waits for you at that machine, and your ticket is only used when the prize lands.
Economy and trading
- New
Bot shops in the Free Market. Bots open hired merchants in FM rooms 1-12 on channels 1-3, for about 6 hours each. They sell their own loot and items they bought from players, but never godly gear, Chaos or White Scrolls, boss-only drops or cash items.
- New
Trade and haggle with bots. To sell, invite a bot to trade and put an item in: it makes an offer and only goes up. To buy, ask in chat ("how much for the work gloves") and it puts the item in the trade window. Haggle in chat or in the window. Friends get a better deal, and rivals won't trade.
- New
@price <item> shows what an item really sold for over the last 7 days: the middle price, the range and the number of sales.
- New
Hanako in the Free Market Entrance sells for mesos: Gachapon Tickets (3m), VIP hair and face coupons (5m), hair colour and skin (2m), cosmetic lens (3m), the Royal Hair Coupon (15m), the Transparent Hat and Cape (10m each) and the Pink and Purple Adventurer Capes (8m each).
- New
Partner rings in the Cash Shop. The Ring category sells 7 couple rings and 6 friendship rings (3,600-6,000 NX for the pair). Press Buy, type your partner's name, and you both get the ring. Change channel once to see the effect.
- New
Bots scroll their own gear for real (items can boom, godly results are rare and megaphoned), and they buy from players' shops at fair prices.
- Change
Meso sinks: Free Market shops pay at least 3% tax on sales. Pet Food costs 2,000 (was 30) and the VIP Teleport Rock 3m (was 1.5m). The newer pet equips are back in the Cash Shop.
- Change
Rich bots earn less and spend more, so bot mesos can't flood the market.
- Same
Drop rates and scroll success rates are unchanged.
Client
- Change
Bounces by class. Thieves and Night Walkers keep the strong Ninja Bounce and Vertical Bounce. Everyone else gets a Flash Jump-strength Ninja Bounce and a shorter Vertical Bounce. Ninja Bounce only works in the air (jump first).
- New
Double-tap jump is off by default. Want it? Add doubletapjump=true under [clienthax] in config.ini.
- Fix
Attacking stops you again, like the original game. You can still jump while attacking. Miss the slide? attackwalk=true under [clienthax] brings it back.
- Fix
"Character creation has temporarily been disabled" is gone for good. The client was misreading the world list.
- Fix
No more freeze grabbing a rope with a dyed weapon, and dyed weapons no longer float off your character.
- Fix
A Hermit's Flash Jump no longer launches you straight up after a Vertical Bounce.
- Fix
No brown box around swaying ropes and ladders, and the Cash Shop mouse wheel scrolls the right way.
- New
An outdated client is told to update: "Your game is out of date: open the SlumsMS launcher to update."
New launcher
- New
Launcher 2.0: one 5 MB program instead of a 154 MB zip. It opens in about a third of a second and updates itself safely.
- New
Your old launcher switches over by itself the next time you open it, keeping your key, game folder and settings. Nothing to reinstall.
Other fixes
- Fix
A mistyped login no longer disconnects someone who is already online.
- Fix
Two PCs at the same house, or friends behind one router, can log in at the same time.
- Fix
A damage exploit and several shop and trade pricing exploits are closed.
- Fix
The server stays steady over a long day instead of slowly using more memory.
Thanks for playing, and see you in Bera!
